Snippets for the New Year : Bramble clubs Facebook group, Sale Day and staff news

Happy New Year to all our customers, students and club members – the Bramble Babes wish you all the very best in 2017, with plenty of joy, laughter and quilting, of course!

Snippets is a regular post series where we round up lots of little bits and pieces about what’s hot, what’s happening, what’s new and what’s next. This time it’s about our private group on Facebook, Sale Day and some changes to the team!

Bramble Clubs private Facebook group

Club members are welcome to join our closed Facebook group

As our clubs continue to grow with ever-more quilters joining in, we’ve decided to open up our closed group on Facebook to members of all our clubs not just Mystery Clubbers (as previously). This group is where our members share pictures of their projects, chat about quilting stuff, and ask for advice from the Bramble Babes. It’s a great place to get help, encouragement and ideas.

So, if you are now, or have ever been, a member of ...

  • Box of Delights Club
  • East Meets West
  • Mystery Club 2015/2016/2017

you are cordially invited to join us on in our closed Bramble Clubs group on Facebook!

To join us, go to the Bramble Clubs group page (obviously you’ll need to be on Facebook already) and click the button to request to join. We need to check that you are a club member to approve you, so if you’re using a different name or email on Facebook from the one you used to sign up with us, just drop us a message to tell us who you are so we can recognise you!

2017 Sale Day

Some advance notice of our Annual Sale Day – it happens on Tuesday 14 February 2017 from 10am to 4pm!

As usual, we’ll have bolts and bolts of fabric from top designers and manufacturers (including Moda) at hugely reduced prices, along with kits, books, magazines, and sewing bits and bobs on sale. We fill the main hall with sale items, and do our best to server you as quickly as we can, but it does get busy so be prepared to queue!

Bramble Babe news

Good luck to Jane in retirement!

A door closes and a window opens… or something like that! Long-term Bramble Babe Jane Rimell (she’s been working here 17 years!) has decided to retire from working in the shop, although she’ll continue to teach patchwork classes. Jane is behind many, many of our quilt samples, classes and Free Friday Demos, so we know she’ll be missed by customers. We wish here all the best and plenty of sewing for herself in her retirement!

Meanwhile, our newest Bramble Babe is Ann Smith, who joined us in the autumn – say hello when you see her – and several of our Babes are doing charity challenges to raise money for cancer support and research this year. We wish the best of luck (and plenty of energy) to Babes Alicia, Emma, Tracy and Nat, who are all running half-marathons (or longer!) in 2017 in aid of charity.

We are also currently looking for staff for both the shop and Conservatory Coffee Shop, so if you’d like to join us, do give us ring on 01327 342212 to discuss the opportunities.

That’s all our snippets for now, but if you want to be kept up to date, you can always sign up to get our news in your email inboxlike us on Facebook, or follow us on Twitter or Instagram. Or just pop back here to the website each week – we always have new fabrics added to the online shop, and new events on the What’s On page.
