Angie Hughes, textile artist and tutor, has been interested in textiles since she left school, but only discovered creative embroidery in 1994 when she began studying for City & Guilds Embroidery. As a student, she won the prestigious Charles Henry Foyle Trust award for Stitched Textiles with her piece Unfolding Word, and had Shroud accepted for the Art of the Stitch exhibition.

Angie’s artwork is inspired by many themes, particularly poetry and text, and natural plant forms. She teaches a range of day workshops at The Bramble Patch, including Inspired by Hundertwasser, Exploring Velvet, and Tweets & Twitters, as well as year long day-a-month courses in machine embroidery and mixed media.
