Frequently Asked Questions

When is the shop open?

We are open from 10 am to 5 pm Monday to Saturday, including Bank Holiday Mondays. We are closed on Sundays and statutory holidays including Easter Sunday, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. Our annual Christmas closure dates can be found on our What’s On page.

Where is the shop?

The Bramble Patch is in the heart of the old village of Weedon Bec, Northamptonshire, just 3 miles west of Junction 16 on the M1, and easily accessed from the A45 and A5 (Watling Street).

We are on West Street, next to the Plume of Feathers pub which you’ll find on the central crossroads in Lower Weedon. (Our address for your satnav system is West Street, Weedon, NN7 4QU. Ring us on 01327 342212 if you need help.)

We are approximately 10 miles from Northampton (take the A45 west towards Daventry and Coventry). Milton Keynes is 20 miles away (drive north on A5) and we are only 30 miles from Coventry and Banbury and 40 miles from Oxford.

The Grand Union Canal runs through the village. If you are travelling through by boat, there are several paths into the village. Just go down the steps from the canal and head for the centre of the village.

What about parking, toilets, disabled access, refreshments, etc?

We have free parking in our own paved car park which can accommodate more than 20 cars, and overflow parking is available in the free public car park a short walk away in the village centre.

We have customer toilets, and are disability aware with wheelchair ramps and parking right outside the door. With the exception of the mezzanine, all areas of the shop, Conservatory Coffee Shop, workshops and toilets are located on the ground floor for easy access.

The Conservatory Coffee Shop serves Italian-style coffees, tea and other hot drinks, light lunches, handmade cakes and cream teas. If you are coming in a group of five or more, you can pre-order lunch and we’ll have it ready for you. (Download a full menu with prices.) We also offer special Afternoon Tea for pre-booked groups.

What is your minimum cut of fabric?

When will I receive my order?

We process your orders as quickly as possible and most orders are despatched the same business day (Monday to Friday). If any of the items you have ordered are out of stock, we will attempt to contact you by phone or email to discuss alternative options or backordering.  Your order will be despatched as soon as payment has been received.

Standard UK delivery : parcels to UK destinations are posted by first class Royal Mail which usually takes 1-2 working days.

Standard overseas delivery : parcels to European and worldwide destinations are sent by Airmail and delivery times will vary.

How much is postage and packing/delivery?

Standard delivery charges are automatically added to your shopping basket when you enter the destination. The Bramble Patch reserves the right to notify you if the actual cost of postage to your chosen destination is significantly higher than the postage rate indicated by the shopping basket. This may happen for particularly bulky or heavy items to some destinations. In this case, we will email you with information about the amended rate and will only proceed with the order when you confirm that the amended postage rate is acceptable.

If you have special delivery requirements, eg, guaranteed next day delivery or extra insurance, please contact us for a quotation.

Do you have a catalogue or send samples?

Our online shop is our catalogue and it is updated regularly. We get new fabrics in every week, and they are added to the shop, while sold out items are removed.

As the turnover of fabric is so fast, we do not have a printed catalogue, nor do we send out samples. Most fabrics have just one print run so we are not able to reorder them. However, there are some Basic Collections which we are able to reorder such as Moda Marbles, Moda Crackle, Makower Spraytime, and Makower Essentials.

What classes do you offer?

We offer a busy and varied programme of classes, workshops and courses that run Monday to Saturday throughout the year. We have a core of regular, experienced teachers offering classes in patchwork, quilting and applique for all levels from beginner to expert. We also offer dressmaking classes, and evening patchwork sessions for those of you who are busy during the week.

We supplement our regular teachers from a wide pool of guest quilters, embroiderers, textile and mixed media artists who offer a selection of day workshops and longer courses in everything from specific projects for the home to developing personal artistic themes and styles.

More general information on our classes, workshops and courses is on our Classes and Workshops page, or you can go straight to our Class Booking page.
