We believe we have some of the best facilities available in the UK in a craft shop!
Based in a specially converted church building, our shop, workrooms and wet studio are large and airy, and have plenty of natural light supplemented with daylight-spectrum artificial lighting to reduce eye-strain and make selecting colours easy and accurate.
With over 500 m² (5,381 sq ft) of floor space after our latest extension, we aren’t cramped – our shop extends to five separate rooms stocked with some 2,000 bolts of cotton fabrics, as well as haberdashery, books, tools, and the two rooms for our Gammill long-arm quilting machines, plus our new Conservatory Coffee Shop.
Workrooms & Exhibition Space
In our classes, you will have a full-size table to yourself, with at least two ironing stations per classroom, and plenty of extension leads and plug points for sewing machines and accessories.
Our wet studio includes large sinks, drop cloths and print boards, and the tables can be raised to a comfortable height for printing without risking back stress.
Our large hall was originally the church nave and with its vaulted ceiling and whitewashed walls, it makes a lovely, open space with plenty of character for our regular exhibitions and events.
Refreshments & Disabled Access
Our Conservatory Coffee Shop at the front of the shop serves cappuccino and other Italian-style coffees, along with specialty teas and hand-made cakes from a local bakery.
Naturally, we have customer toilets, including a fully-compliant disabled loo and wheelchair ramps and parking right outside the door. With the exception of the mezzanine, all areas of the shop, workshops and toilets are located on the ground floor for easy access. We’re always happy to bring books down if you can’t manage the stairs!
We do have our own paved car park, which can accommodate more than 20 vehicles, and for times when we’re busy, there is free parking in the village centre Jubilee Field car park close by.
