Would you like to add to your repertoire of stitch techniques or develop your confidence in choosing colours for quilts and other textiles?
Popular teacher and City & Guilds tutor, Edwina Mackinnon, will be offering two workshops at The Bramble Patch in May that may be just the thing you’re looking for.
10 May 2013: Talking Textures
Talking Textures is a new, playful workshop when you can experiment with all sorts of fabric manipulation to create unusual textile surfaces. Learn about faux chenille, slashing, blooming, folding, tucking and fraying with different fabrics and colours for exciting and unique results.
Suitable for all levels from beginners to advanced, this class will give you lots of ideas and inspiration to incorporate fabric textures in your quilts, wall-hangings, bags, clothing, home decor and more.
Talking Textures is a one-day workshop on Friday, 10 May 2013 and costs £45. Ring the shop to reserve your place, or book online.
31 May 2013: Colour Confidence
Learn what the colour wheel is, how it works, and how to make the most of your stash in this new workshop, Colour Confidence. Which colours sing together out loud and which produce a soft and soothing hum? Play with colour combinations and decode the jargon of monochrome, complementary, tertiary, value and tint, tone and shade!
Let Edwina’s low-pressure approach de-mystify colour for you using your own fabrics, and put your new knowledge into practice by designing a stunning piece of patchwork, whether you’re a beginner or not.
Colour Confidence is a one-day workshop on Friday, 31 May and costs £45. As always, you can book online, or through the shop.
