Unusual fabric collections inspired by nature

Every so often we get some fabulous fabric collections in the shop that just don’t fit into easily-defined categories like traditional, batiks or basics… here are a few ranges that are new, different and gorgeous in their own unique way!

Dream Blossom

Dream Blossom is a small collection designed by Lauren Wan for Hoffman California Fabrics that has an airy, dreamy feel influenced by oriental ink paintings. These fabrics are covered in meadow grasses, wild flowers and butterflies in a soft palette of peaches and blues with metallic highlights of silver and gold. These really unusual designs are sure to be noticed in any project you choose them for.

Sound of the Woods

Another small collection with an unique take on a nature-inspired theme is Sound of the Woods by Katherine Lovell for Wild Apple for Robert Kaufman. These beautiful prints in muted blue, greys and taupes evoke the soft silence of snowy woods with their bare branches and snowy sky blenders. Ethereal and evocative, these fabrics are subtle, chic and very modern.

Sherwood, designed by the Henley Studio for Makower, is also nature-inspired but with a completely different take. This eclectic collection in autumnal cream, greens and burnt orange includes a variety of different styles of prints, from Toile de Jouy inspired owls, hares, badgers, foxes and squirrels through Scandi-style deer, traditional leafy sprig prints and diagonal tartans. Something for everyone who loves their woodland animals!

Finally, we have Mojito, a very modern, very graphic collection from Skipping Stones Studio for Clothworks. Black, white, grey and a cool lime are combined in a dizzying array of graphic prints which all share roots in the shapes of flowers, seed-heads and grasses. These designs are unapologetically show-stoppers and not for the faint-hearted, and they will definitely make an impact in quilts, bags, cushions and other projects.

Of course, these are just a few of the collections available in the shop right now, and we get new ranges in every week, so look in Shop Online – Fabric to see all our fabrics.
