June Exhibition Results

Once again our visitors and customers have raised over £1500 for Macmillan Cancer Support (adding it to our grand total of more than £100k) during our recent exhibitions, The Mystery Revealed and Antique & Heritage Quilt WeekThank you all for your generosity, and we sincerely hope that these funds will help support many families struggling with the difficulties and worry of cancer.

As Visitors’ Choice award for the Mystery Club quilts, we had many comments about the surprising variety of the quilts despite them all being from the same patterns! As usual, the final results were determined by the votes cast by you, the visitors.

And the Visitor’s Choice Award winners are:

  • 1st place : Christine Dumford‘s large, quilt-as-you-go sashed version in the Summer palette which she both hand and free-motion machine quilted herself
  • 2nd place : Janet Millett‘s large and striking Winter palette quilt using the starry layout with rich red background triangles and custom long-arm quilting from our quilt room
  • 3rd place : Gwenda Hughes‘s Winter palette quilt, again in the starry layout, but this time with a warm gold background and some lovely fussy-cutting

Well done and thank you to all who kindly let us display your work – we hope you enjoyed seeing it hung, and that you will want to continue to exhibit your quilts in the future!

The raffle prize quilt made by the Bramble Babes was won by Sue James.
