September 2023 BOX OF DELIGHTS
Our original quilter's subscription box!
The monthly Box of Delights includes quality patchwork fabric from brands you know and trust, haberdashery and our own pattern surprises every month, selected and curated by the Bramble Babes.
But what if you just fancy a box from one of the previous months? well this is the perfect product for you ...
What’s in the box…
Watermarks - by Holly Taylor for Moda: 8 x fat eighths
This charming collection of fabric by Holly Taylor presents some delightful prints in a gentle colour palette of soft greens, blues and corals. And the main features on the fabric prints is perfectly explained by Holly Taylor herself in her description – “With more than 14,000 lakes in Minnesota we have the perfect environment for the Great White Egret. From late April through September we witness their beauty as they glide through the air to land on the water. Every creature, and every plant, has a purpose on our planet. The egret helps keep the bug and frog population in balance during the hot summer months, just as the lily pads create shade under the water’s surface. The lily pads rise to the surface with large leaves to catch the sun’s light to create photosynthesis and produce a beautiful flower. What a beautiful world we live in if we just choose to see it.”
Linen texture, either blue or green: 50cm
This month’s suggested project requires a simple lining fabric and what better to include in your box is our favourite linen texture by Makower. You will either have a 50cm piece of blue or green but either shade will perfectly compliment your feature fabric fat eighths from the collection.
16"zip: various colours
This month’s haberdashery is ideal for one of the options of our suggested projects, but if not, then a zip is surely a handy notion to add to your stash.
Pattern: Peg bag / Safe Hanger
We have included a couple of variations for this month’s project – a peg bag speaks for itself and is always a super useful make and essential to brighten up the task of hanging out the washing. But the alternative to this pattern is the safe hanger – perfect for storing accessories, scarves, belts etc. to accompany a specific outfit, whether you are travelling or at home. Using this safe hanger means you will always have the exact accessories easily to hand with your chosen outfit. We have included the paper templates to cut out your fabric to create this project and with the fabric we have included in your box you can either make one complete bag or make both if you purchase additional lining fabric – just in case you can’t decide!
