Jane meets Lucy - Patchwork of the Crosses - Block of the Month subscription (ongoing) - Hand-pieced

This Block of the Month is based on Lucy Boston's most famous coverlet, the Patchwork of the Crosses, but lovingly created using fabric prints from the Jane Austen collections - 'when Jane Austen meets Lucy Boston'. 

This special edition of the Patchwork of the Crosses kit is a collaboration with the fabulous prints from all the Jane Austen collections - past, present & future -  and includes curated selections of fabrics chosen to represent Jane Austen's novels, themes, characters and plots. Along with instructions for EPP, pre-cut papers and template plastic to help with fussy-cutting. This "precision cutting" of fabrics is one element that made Lucy's work so special. She herself said:

"Interesting patterns can be made by cutting out particular details in the material and using them to make symmetrical figures of their own. This, of course, means very wasteful cutting whereas the original notion of patchwork was economy."

Please note: You decide the finished size of your quilt - you can stitch as many blocks as you want depending on the completed size quilt you wish to create.

Each month your box will contain the following to create ONE block (measuring 13.5" x 13.5"):

• 4 x fat eighths of Jane Austen feature fabrics
• fat eighth of cream/black spot background fabric
• 2 x 5" squares of Jane Austen feature fabrics for cornerstones
• 1 x 5" square of Jane Austen "Correspondence" fabric for block joining square
• 48 x 1" honeycombs and 8 x 1" squares

Important details you need to know

Payments are taken on the 28th of each month for £26.00 per month. (when you sign up you'll get a confirmation of your order, but no money will be taken until the following 28th). Boxes are then despatched via Royal Mail in the first week of the following month. (eg. if you sign up on 10 August, your payment will be taken on 28 August, and your box despatched at the beginning of September.)

Total cost of the quilt is £198.00

Please note this is a subscription product. You are signing up to receive a box each month until you choose to cancel. There is no option to select the contents or to receive boxes on approval.

As a Member of one of the Bramble Patch Clubs you're welcome to join us online in our Bramble Clubs Facebook Group or in person at one of our Club Days. Both places provide the opportunity to chat to other members and get help from Julie and the other stitchers if you need.
