The Pineapple quilt block is one of the oldest, traditional blocks and creates a truly dynamic quilt. A variation of the Log Cabin block, it is created by piecing strips of fabric diagonally rather than perpendicular to the centre square. And as with many quilt blocks it has several alternative names, such as Maltese Cross and Windmill Blades. But we’re going to keep to the ‘old ways’ and proudly name this mini quilt ‘Pineapple'.
