2022/10/01 - Janes - All Things Bright & Beautiful
Tutor Jane Gregg – I trained in textiles at Birmingham polytechnic faculty of Art and Design specialising in embroidery and have a B.A hons degree in textiles.
I have a lifelong love of embroidery and a fascination with birds, flowers and folk art. I combine these loves into my illustrations and transfer these into my embroidered pictures.
During the class I will support you to create a beautiful and vibrant picture.
I will supply you with a choice of my original designs from which you can choose on the day.
You will be able to use these to compose your own picture using applique and embroidery stitches.
All of which I will demonstrate to you on the day.
You will be shown how to applique your design by transferring the illustration onto Bondaweb and onto your base fabric and then how to embellish using simple but very effective embroidery stitches.
Your embroidery hoop will become your frame for your finished work of art and I will show you how to finish this off so you can hang it in pride of place at home.
