When we first launched this quilt back in 2016 it was extremely successful and we have been waiting for the right fabric collection to be able to relaunch it - and here it is.
This new lap quilt / wall hanging is created by using the old Englist hand sewn technique of English Paper Piecing (EPP) to stitch tradtional Japanese blocks designs in the stunning fabric collection "Arthur's Garden 2" by Liberty Fabrics. It is an ideal project to learn several techniques if hand sewing is new to you:
- EPP technique
- Drafting out blocks on graph paper (which then is cut up to become the paper piecing templates)
- Quilt-As-You-Go (allowing each block to be individually hand/machine quilted and once all blocks are completed, joined together using sashing stripes)
The twelve different blocks will each measure 12" x 12" and will go together to create a lap quilt or wall hanging measuring approx. 36" x 48".
Each month you will receive the following to create ONE block per month:
- Liberty fabric to create the block
- Plain fabric to create the block's borders
- a sheet of 12" graph paper to draft the block
The total amount of fabric you will receive throughout the year will be:
- 3.75m Arthur's Garden fabric by Liberty Fabrics
- 1.75m Linen Texture fabric by MakowerÂ
plus 12 sheets of 12" graph paper by Creative Grids.
How much does it cost? £15.00 per month for 12 months - first payment will be taken on the 28th August with the first box being despatched beginning of September. Please note if you subscribe after the 28th August a 'catch up' payment will be taken to allow your 'missed' box(es) to be despatched.Â
And finally, as a Member of one of the Bramble Patch Clubs you're welcome to join us online in our Bramble Clubs Facebook Group or in person at one of our Club Days. Both places provide the opportunity to chat to other members and get help from Alicia and the other stitchers if you need it.
