Lucy Boston (1892–1990) was famous for writing her series of Green Knowe children’s books, for her wonderful garden full of old roses and scented plants, and for the restoration of her Norman Manor house at Hemingford Grey, Huntingdon. She was also a dedicated patchworker making over twenty beautiful coverlets entirely hand-pieced over papers in the English Paper Piecing (EPP) method.

In July 2017, the Bramble Babes had a day out visiting Hemingford Grey and were so inspired by her work that we asked Diana Boston, Lucy's daughter-in-law and current owner of both the manor and the quilts, if we could design and sell kits based on Lucy's work.

Happily, Diana agreed and we now have a series of Lucy Boston Collection kits to help you create your own hand-pieced heirlooms!
